Pamoja Kenya 2024
Everything for a better future

Meet our Team

Project leaders:

Julian

Nienke

My name is Julian Wals (20). I was born and raised in Amsterdam. As project leader, I hope to motivate and guide the team effectively. In addition, I hope to develop as a leader. I am taking part in this wonderful project because I think sport should be available to everyone. I want to contribute to someone else's development and this project offers this opportunity.

Hi I am Nienke van Son, 21 years old. I was born in Vught, a village in Brabant but took this Brabant sociability with me to Amsterdam. The Pamoja Kenya project means a lot to me because I find it extremely important to help others and to dedicate myself to making the world a bit better. I have a lot of confidence in our team and we are going to make it a good year!

Team members:

Anne

Canberk

Hi hi! My name is Anne van den Heuvel. I am 20 years old, from Utrecht and I enjoy studying ISMB at the HvA. Pamoja Kenya has given me the opportunity to share this passion for sport with others and make the world a little bit better by using sport as a tool to help others. I myself already work in the sport for development context (for Pole Positon Foundation) and I think this project can teach me a lot more and offer different perspectives. I have all the confidence in our friendly but hardworking group this year and can't wait for all the adventures we will encounter along the way. Lets Go!

Hi!!! I am Canberk Özdemir, 19 years old and I am from Alkmaar. In my spare time, I like to do sports, take photos and spend time with my family and friends. Last year, I heard about this project for the first time and I was immediately very excited. It is very important to stand up for people who are less fortunate. After all, we live in luxury here while many people in the world live in poverty. That's why I chose to participate in this project. I want to make the world a better place and this combined with sport is exactly what I am looking for!

Eva

Jochem

My name is Eva Silva Vermaas (20) and I am from Amsterdam. The reason I am participating in the Pamoja Kenya project is because I think you can make a lot of social and environmental changes through sport, and that this is necessary. Pamoja Kenya's goal is development through sport, which is why I thought it was a great opportunity to be involved in this project. I am really looking forward to being involved in this project during the second year of my studies and I hope to make the world a more beautiful place.

I am Jochem van Leeuwen (19) and I am from Geldrop. I participate in the Pamoja Kenya project because I would like to make a positive impact in the lives of children in Kenya. I am happy to be part of this initiative that offers hope and opportunities for a better future through sports. I see this initiative as a way to not only provide direct support to the children, but also give them hope and opportunities for a better future.

Levi

Lieve

My name is Levi Hagebeek (20) and I am from Amsterdam. I am participating in this project because I think this is a great opportunity to get to know a new culture and help people at the same time. I've travelled before and I always find it really fascinating to discover new cultures. I also enjoy working with children and I think it would be great if I could actually help the children there. I think that every child in the world should be able to go to school and I hope to contribute to that with this project. Furthermore, I think I can also develop myself on a personal level during this project. I want to work on my management skills with this project.

My name is Lieve Kole (20) and I am from Amersfoort. I decided to participate in this project because I like new challenges and find it important to look after the people around me. Every child has a right to socialisation and a familiar environment. I hope that through this project we can contribute to that and give these children two amazing weeks.

Mazzy

Rob

My name is Mazzy (21) and I am from Soest. I am taking part in the Pamoja Kenya project this year, because I want to do my part to create a better future through the power of sport. I hope that we, as a group, can give the people over there a wonderful time for these two weeks, but also have an impact on the period afterwards. Besides, I think this is a very nice and instructive challenge, in which I hope to learn a lot on a personal level as well.

Hi, I'm Rob and when I heard about the Pamoja Kenya project I was immediately inspired. I think it would be a great experience to add something to Tim's organisation and to make the trip to Kenya. I also hope that through this project I can develop myself on a personal level and perhaps come to new insights.

Ruby

Sven

Hi, I'm Ruby!
"If you have things better than someone else, you build a longer table, not a higher fence."
I try to live by this statement. I would like to make the world a nicer place. The combination of social commitment and sport inspire me. No matter how big or small: social projects have always had my attention and I like to dedicate myself to them. I strongly believe in the uniting power of sport to bring communities together, create opportunities and positively impact lives. By participating in this project, I want to not only develop my own skills, but actually contribute to promoting positive change through sport. The idea that my efforts can make a difference greatly motivates me to commit to Pamoja Kenya and A-STEP.

Hi, I'm Sven Druijff (20) and I'm from Amersfoort. The reason I am participating in this project is because I enjoy going on adventures and helping other people. I think sport should be possible for everyone, and I hope for the less privileged children in the world that this will be the case in the future. By participating in the Pamoja Kenya project, I can improve the world a little bit and hope to develop on a personal level as well.

Tatum

My name is Tatum Gassman, I am 19 years old and I live in Mijdrecht. Sport is really like an outlet for me and I get a lot of pleasure from doing it. I think it's important to be able to give other people the same experience with sports. The reason I have chosen to participate in the Pamoja Kenya project is because I want to give the children in Kenya the two best weeks of their lives through sports. In addition, I would like to see a bit more of the world myself.
